Description
Live a unique experience touring Ausangate Mountain on ATVs, the highest mountain in Cusco and the fifth highest in Peru. This adventure will take you through spectacular landscapes, surrounded by imposing peaks, glacial lagoons, and high Andean communities.
During the trip, you will have direct contact with Andean biodiversity, observing species such as the vicuña, llama, and trout that inhabit the cold high-altitude lagoons. A perfect combination of adrenaline, nature, and living culture in the heart of the Peruvian Andes.
We will start our tour at 4:00 a.m., picking you up at your hotel aboard our tourist transport. Next, we will travel for approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes until we reach the town of Cusipata, where we will enjoy a buffet breakfast at our restaurant. This breakfast is designed to recharge your batteries before starting the activity.
After breakfast, we will continue by vehicle to Ichupata, the starting point of our ATV experience and base of operations. Once at the base, we will receive a 15-minute induction from our specialized guide, who will explain the basic handling of the ATV.
Next, we will begin our ATV tour of approximately 2 hours, where we will be able to appreciate various Andean landscapes characteristic of the area. At the end of the ATV route, we will begin a hike of between 40 to 50 minutes, depending on the pace of the group. Just 5 minutes after starting the walk, the view of the Ausangate Lagoon will open up.
Once we reach the top, we will visit the Qorisonqo Lagoon, which is famous for its three different colors, which makes it unique. We will also be able to observe the Turquoise Lagoon, which is located in front of the glacier. In this place, the guide will give us interesting information about the history, geology, and legends that surround this snowy mountain.
Next, you will have free time to take photographs, record videos, or simply rest and let yourself be enveloped by the energy of the environment. After the visit, we will return walking along the same route to the parking lot where the ATVs will be waiting for us. From there, our transport will take us back to Cusipata, where a delicious lunch will be waiting for us at our restaurant.
Finally, we will begin the return to the city of Cusco, thus ending our service.
