📅 DAY 1: KUELAP FORTRESS TOUR + MACRO RUINS Start
Departure from Chachapoyas
We start the journey by car towards the town of Tingo, a 1-hour drive.
Macro Viewpoint
Stop at the viewpoint to observe the Macro Archaeological Complex, known for its circular bases and rhomboid motifs, typical of the Chachapoyas culture.
Transfer to the Cable Cars
Arrive at the cable car ticket office, where we purchase tickets for Kuelap and go up by cable car to La Malca.
Visit to Kuelap Fortress
From La Malca, we walk 1 km to the Kuelap Fortress. We will do a 2-hour guided visit to explore its impressive walls and structures.
Return to Tingo
Walk back and take the cable cars to Tingo.
Lunch (not included)
Free time to have lunch in Tingo or surroundings.
Return to Chachapoyas
Return to Chachapoyas, with estimated arrival at 4:00 p.m..
📅 DAY 2: CHACHAPOYAS TOUR - KARAJIA SARCOPHAGI - DEAD PEOPLE'S VILLAGE Archaeology
Departure to Luya Province
We head to the province of Luya. After 1 hour of travel, we arrive in Lamud, the provincial capital.
Hike to the Dead People's Village
From Lamud, we walk 1 hour to the Dead People's Village, a cult site where high-ranking Chachapoyas officials were buried. Here you will see tombs on cliffs and learn about the region's funerary culture.
Lunch in Lamud
Return to Lamud to enjoy lunch (not included).
Visit to Karajia Sarcophagi
We head to the towns of Cohechan, Chocta, and Cruz Pata. From here, we do a 20-minute hike to the Karajia Sarcophagi, an amazing Chachapoyas burial form, with anthropomorphic figures up to 2.5 meters tall, made of stone, wood, and clay.
Return to Chachapoyas
Return to the city of Chachapoyas, with afternoon arrival.
📅 DAY 3: GOCTA WATERFALL TOUR + PITAYA PETROGLYPHS Nature
Breakfast at the hotel
We start the day with breakfast at the hotel before heading to the town of Cocachimba.
Visit to Pitaya Petroglpyhs
On the way, we visit the Pitaya Petroglpyhs, over 3,000 years old. These petroglyphs represent flora, fauna, and hunting scenes in rocks and stones, over an area of 100 m².
Hike to Gocta Waterfall
After 1.5 hours of travel, we begin the 2-hour hike to Gocta Waterfall, one of the highest in the world (771 meters high, with 2 falls).
Observation of Flora and Fauna
At Gocta, you can observe species such as the cock-of-the-rock, spectacled bear, and more than 100 bird species. You will also see orchids and endemic plants.
Lunch in Cocachimba
Return to Cocachimba to have lunch (not included).
Return to Chachapoyas
We return to Chachapoyas, with afternoon arrival.
📅 DAY 4: CHACHAPOYAS - REVASH MAUSOLEUMS - LEYMEBAMBA MUSEUM Final
Departure to Revash Mausoleums
We depart from Chachapoyas by car towards the Revash Mausoleums, a 2-hour drive. Upon arrival, we will walk 4.5 km (or optionally by horse) to the site, where you will see impressive funerary tombs in the form of 1 to 3-story houses, decorated with rupestrian symbology and offerings to ancestors.
Lunch in Leymebamba
After visiting the Mausoleums, we continue by car for 1 hour to the Leymebamba District for lunch (not included).
Visit to Leymebamba Museum
After lunch, we travel 10 minutes by car to the Leymebamba Museum, where more than 200 mummies and more than 2,000 Chachapoyas archaeological pieces are exhibited, offering a deep look at their lifestyle and ancestral beliefs.
