Day 1: Cusco – Tambomachay – Pucamarca Day 1
We start with early pickup from your hotel heading to Tambomachay, ancient Inca ceremonial center. We begin the hike passing through the Qoriqocha and Yanaqocha lakes, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and high-altitude birds. After about 7 hours of hiking, we arrive at the Pucamarca community, where we have lunch and visit local houses to learn about their lifestyle and Andean camelids. We camp in the community to spend the night.
Day 2: Pucamarca – Huchuy Qosqo – Aguas Calientes Day 2
After breakfast, we say goodbye to the community and hike for 1.5 hours until we reach the impressive archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo. We explore temples, canals, terraces, and Inca enclosures on a 2-hour guided tour. After lunch, we descend to the town of Lamay, enjoying views of the Sacred Valley. Our transport will take us to the train station in Ollantaytambo to board towards Aguas Calientes. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco Day 3
Very early, we ascend to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. During a 2-hour guided visit, we explore the most important places: the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Sun, the agricultural terraces, and more. After the tour, free time to explore or visit additional points like the Inca Bridge. In the afternoon, return by train Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo and transfer to Cusco.
