Explore the Ausangate Mountain in a unique and challenging way: through an unforgettable trek!
Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of southern Cusco with the Ausangate Trek, a walking journey that will take you through otherworldly landscapes: snow-capped mountains, turquoise lagoons, and Andean villages that preserve their ancient traditions.
We will start the Ausangate trek at 4:00 a.m., picking you up at your hotel aboard our private tourist transport to begin the adventure. From Cusco, we will travel for approximately 2 hours until we reach the town of Cusipata, where we will enjoy a comforting buffet breakfast at our restaurant. This breakfast will recharge us with energy to start our trek towards Ausangate mountain.
Our vehicle will drop us off as close as possible, at the top of the enabled route, which significantly reduces walking time and allows us to fully enjoy the impressive Andean landscape. After enjoying a panoramic journey in our private transport, we will arrive at the Ausangate property, the starting point of our trek. From this place, we will begin a moderate difficulty ascent, which will take between 40 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the physical condition of the group.
Just 5 minutes after starting the trek, we will be able to observe the impressive view of Ausangate Lagoon before us. However, throughout the journey, we will have the opportunity to observe imposing glaciers and turquoise lagoons that frame the landscape with authentic beauty.
Note: From this point, you will have two access options to the snow-capped mountain, which you can choose according to your preference and physical condition: Horse route: It is ideal for those looking for a more comfortable experience, as it allows you to enjoy the landscape without much physical effort. (ask for availability) Trekking route: It is perfect for lovers of walking and adventure, as it crosses spectacular landscapes that connect directly with the majesty of Ausangate.
Once we reach the top, we will visit Qorisonqo Lagoon, which is famous for having three distinct colors, making it a unique place for taking photos and videos. We will also be able to observe the Turquoise Lagoon, which is located in front of the glacier. In this place, the guide will provide interesting information about the history, geology, and legends surrounding this snow-capped mountain. Afterwards, you will have free time to take photos, record videos, or simply rest and let yourself be enveloped by the energy of the surroundings.
After the visit, we will return walking along the same route to the parking lot. From there, our transport will take us back to Cusipata, where a delicious lunch will await us at our restaurant. Finally, we will begin our return to the city of Cusco, concluding our service.
